This term’s curriculum in Home Economics introduces students to essential aspects of home management and hygiene. The term begins with clothing construction, where students will learn all about seams—their types, importance, and how to make them neatly and correctly in garment construction. Following that, emphasis will shift to home hygiene, focusing on the importance of keeping the home clean to prevent diseases and promote a healthy living environment.
Students will explore different types of home cleaning and learn practical ways to maintain cleanliness and tidiness in various parts of the house. The lessons will also cover the kitchen, introducing its layout, functions, and tools, followed by a focus on kitchen hygiene to ensure safe food handling and cleanliness. The term will end with an introduction to the first aid box, teaching students its components and how to use them during minor household accidents.
