About Course

Course Summary:

This course focuses on enhancing students’ language skills, with particular emphasis on speech, grammar, and communication techniques. It begins with speech work, where students practice effective verbal communication, ensuring clarity and fluency in spoken English.

The course then provides further practice in the use of tenses, reinforcing students’ understanding of when and how to use different tenses correctly in both written and spoken language. Students will also learn how to give an account of visits to places of interest, focusing on descriptive and narrative skills to share their experiences engagingly.

In addition, the course covers aural discrimination through listening exercises, helping students improve their ability to identify and differentiate sounds. They will also engage in description passages, where they practice describing objects, scenes, or events accurately and vividly.

Letter reading forms another part of the course, where students will enhance their ability to understand, interpret, and respond to written correspondence. The course also focuses on the comparison of things based on weight, shape, and quality, equipping students with the language skills necessary to make clear and logical comparisons.

Further practice in aural discrimination will continue to sharpen students’ listening abilities. They will also work with adverbs of comparison, learning how to use them to compare actions, qualities, or states effectively. Finally, students will study demonstrative pronouns, gaining a deeper understanding of how to point out and refer to specific people, places, or things in conversation.

By the end of the course, students will have strengthened their speaking, listening, and writing skills, with a clear understanding of grammar concepts such as tenses, comparisons, and pronouns.
