About the Course: English Language
This course is designed to enhance students’ English language skills through activities that develop their reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities. With a focus on phonics, fluency, and comprehension, students will gain the foundational tools needed for effective communication and literacy.
Course Overview:
- Comprehension
Students will engage with diverse texts, including poems and stories like “An Old Man and His Three Sons” and “Road Safety”. These lessons focus on understanding, critical thinking, and drawing meaning from written materials. - Phonics
Through lessons on vowels, diphthongs, multi-syllabic words, and plural forms, students will strengthen their pronunciation and spelling skills. They’ll also explore the differences between regular and irregular plurals. - Fluency
Students will practice reading with appropriate stress and intonation to improve fluency and expressiveness. A special focus will be on fluency reading with stories like “The Boy Who Had Courage”.
This course nurtures a love for reading while building foundational skills in phonics, comprehension, and oral communication, ensuring students grow into confident and capable users of the English language.
