About Course
This course focuses on developing students’ proficiency in speech work, beginning with a revision of the previous term’s work to ensure continuity. It introduces students to rhymes as a foundation for understanding rhythm and sound patterns in English.
Students learn to master key aspects of pronunciation, such as word stress, consonant clusters (e.g., tr and str), and vowel contrasts, to improve clarity and fluency in speech. The course also emphasizes consonant sounds and consonant contrasts, including pairs like /k/ and /g/ and nasal sounds like /m/, /n/, and /ŋ/, ensuring a comprehensive approach to phonetics and articulation.
By the end of the term, students will have enhanced their ability to articulate sounds accurately, improving both their speaking and listening skills. This foundation prepares them for effective communication in various contexts.
