About Course

This term’s Computer Studies curriculum introduces students to both theoretical and practical applications of digital technology in modern society. It begins by exploring the large-scale uses of computers in industries such as banking, education, healthcare, and transportation. Students also examine the role of social media, including its advantages in communication and networking, as well as its challenges like cyberbullying and misinformation.

Midway through the term, attention shifts to misuse of computers, teaching learners about unethical practices such as hacking, piracy, and cybercrime. The term also presents career opportunities in computing, highlighting roles like software development, data analysis, and cybersecurity. To build hands-on skills, students will use Scratch programming to address real-world topics like ocean clean-up and design interactive projects, encouraging creativity, environmental awareness, and basic coding proficiency.
