This course explores the significance of national symbols and their role in fostering national unity and identity. It covers various key aspects, starting with an introduction to the Constitution and the Mace as symbols of governance. The course delves into the National Flag and the Coat of Arms, examining their symbolism and meaning.

Students will also study Nigeria’s National Anthem and National Currency, understanding their importance as expressions of patriotism and national pride. A key focus will be placed on distinguishing national symbols from other symbols, as well as the importance of respecting these national emblems.

Furthermore, the course emphasizes the demonstration of respect for national symbols in daily life and extends this respect to elders and constituted authority, underscoring the values that contribute to a harmonious society.
