About Course

This subject focuses on building responsible citizens through the understanding of family values, civic responsibility, and community harmony. It begins with responsible parenthood, highlighting the duties of parents in raising morally upright and socially responsible children. Students will also explore factors that contribute to successful parenting, such as love, discipline, education, and economic stability. The course then shifts to public safety, covering traffic regulations and the causes and consequences of road accidents in Nigeria, with emphasis on how individuals and the government can collaborate to ensure safer roads.

In the second part of the course, students are introduced to essential social skills and community dynamics. Interpersonal relations focuses on developing respectful and effective communication and collaboration among individuals. This leads into a study of inter-communal relationships, examining how communities interact and the importance of unity and cooperation. The term concludes with methods of settling disputes in inter-communal societies, teaching students peaceful conflict resolution strategies and the role of traditional and modern institutions in maintaining societal harmony.
