About Course
This term’s curriculum begins with nuclear chemistry, exploring the structure of the atomic nucleus, types of radioactive decay, and applications of nuclear reactions. It then transitions into nuclear reactions, focusing on fission, fusion, and their energy implications. Students are introduced to simple molecular structures and their shapes, helping them visualize how atoms bond and interact in space, followed by metallic bonding, which explains the unique properties of metals.
Midway through the term, the curriculum shifts to organic chemistry with an introduction to hydrocarbons, covering alkanes, alkenes, and alkynes. It further develops students’ practical chemistry skills through volumetric analysis, teaching titration techniques and calculations, and concludes with an introduction to qualitative analysis, where students learn to identify substances through observable chemical reactions.
