About Course
This subject explores fundamental concepts in chemistry, focusing on the periodic table, chemical reactions, and electrochemistry. It begins with an introduction to the periodic table, where students will learn about element classification and periodic trends, such as atomic radius, ionization energy, and electronegativity. The study then moves to types of chemical reactions, including combination, decomposition, displacement, and redox reactions, with a specific focus on oxidizing and reducing agents and their roles in chemical processes.
The second half of the course covers electrochemistry, starting with the ionic theory, which explains the behavior of ions in solutions. Students will explore electrolysis, including the electrolysis of different electrolytes and Faraday’s laws, which govern the relationship between electric charge and substance deposition. The course concludes with the study of electrochemical cells, their working principles, and real-world applications, such as batteries and corrosion prevention. This subject provides students with a solid foundation in chemical properties, reactivity, and electrochemical processes.
