This course introduces students to the fundamentals of production and various occupations, helping them understand how goods and services are created and the roles people play in the economy. It emphasizes the importance of honesty in business and explores the ethical issues involved in sourcing chemicals, highlighting responsible business practices and environmental considerations.

Students will also learn about entrepreneurship — what it means, why it’s important, and how it drives innovation and job creation. Topics will cover business organization, understanding the consumer and market, and the basics of monitoring and controlling chemicals safely in business operations. Finally, students will get an introduction to book-keeping, equipping them with foundational financial management skills useful for running or working in a business.
