About Course
This term’s curriculum emphasizes both visual representation and practical workshop skills. It begins with orthographic projection, allowing students to grasp fundamental drafting techniques for accurately representing 3D objects in 2D. The focus then shifts to one-point perspective drawings over two weeks, helping students develop spatial awareness and artistic precision. In Weeks 4 and 5, scale and scale drawings are introduced to teach proportionality and measurement accuracy, crucial skills in technical design and planning.
The second half of the term becomes more hands-on, starting with simple blueprints to bridge drawing and real-life applications. Students then move into metalwork and fabrication processes with lessons on soldering and brazing—essential joining techniques in engineering and repair. The final weeks are dedicated to applying all learned skills through practical projects in metalwork and woodwork, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and craftsmanship in tangible ways.
