Basic Science and Technology — Primary 6 — 2nd Term

This subject introduces students to foundational science and introductory technical skills. The term begins with the study of air and air pressure, helping students understand the properties and behavior of air in the environment. It progresses into topics related to climate, emphasizing weather patterns and how they affect daily life.

Students then explore space science through the movements of the sun, moon, and earth, followed by an introduction to the solar system, fostering a basic understanding of astronomy and celestial bodies.

The curriculum also covers colors, possibly focusing on light and how colors are formed or perceived. Students are introduced to basic chemistry by studying the first elements on the periodic table, laying the groundwork for further study in science.

The latter part of the term transitions to basic technical education, where students learn about wood hand tools, including their uses and maintenance. The term concludes with a focus on safety, highlighting best practices in both scientific and technical environments.
