About Course
This term in Mathematics, you will explore many interesting topics that will help you solve everyday problems better.
You’ll begin with indices, which is a simple way of writing repeated multiplication (like 2 × 2 × 2 = 2³). Then, you’ll learn how to solve problems involving ratios and percentages, which are useful when comparing quantities or working out parts of a whole.
You’ll also practice open sentences—these are maths statements with missing numbers or letters that you need to figure out. In the topic of money, you’ll learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide money amounts.
Next, you’ll explore measurements like length and weight, and later learn about prime numbers, which are special numbers only divisible by 1 and themselves.
Toward the end of the term, you’ll study area (how much space a surface covers) and volume (how much space something takes up), which are very important in real-life maths.
