About Course

This term in Mathematics, you will begin by learning about temperature—how to read it, what it means when it’s hot or cold, and how we measure it using a thermometer.

Next, you will explore plane shapes, like triangles, squares, and circles. You’ll also learn the special properties of shapes like the rhombus, square, and rectangle—such as their sides, corners, and angles.

Then, you’ll study angles, how to recognize and name them (like right angles and acute angles), and where they appear in everyday life.

After that, you’ll move on to 3-dimensional shapes, such as cubes, cones, and cylinders. You’ll learn how they are different from flat shapes because they have depth.

You will also learn about the circle—its parts, like the radius, diameter, and center, and how it’s different from other shapes.

Later in the term, you will be introduced to binary numbers, which is how computers count using just two digits: 0 and 1.

Lastly, you will work with tally marks, a simple way to count and keep track of numbers using lines.
