About Course

This term in Mathematics, you will begin by learning how to solve simultaneous equations, which means finding the values of two variables that satisfy two equations at the same time. You’ll also explore geometry, focusing on the angles inside triangles and how to calculate them accurately.

You will then move on to finding the area of different plane shapes like triangles, rectangles, and circles. In trigonometry, you’ll learn about trigonometrical ratios (like sine, cosine, and tangent), which are useful for solving problems involving angles of elevation and depression—for example, looking up at a tall building or down from a hill. You’ll also study bearing, which involves giving directions using angles, and finally, you’ll be introduced to scale drawing, where you create accurate diagrams or maps based on reduced or enlarged measurements.
