About Course
This term, students will explore various branches of creative and performing arts, beginning with mosaic art, where they will learn how to create designs using small, colorful pieces of materials like glass, paper, and stones. They will also be introduced to choral singing, which will focus on vocal training, group coordination, and the basics of harmony and melody in a choir setting. As part of performing arts, students will delve into play production, gaining foundational knowledge in drama, including script interpretation, character development, and stage performance. They will also study different forms of dance, learning about rhythm, movement, and cultural significance in both traditional and contemporary styles.
The curriculum continues with lessons on the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment used in visual and performing arts, fostering responsibility and respect for creative materials. Students will engage in play and role-play activities to develop communication, creativity, and empathy through improvisation and character exploration. A unit on recycling will encourage the use of repurposed materials in art, promoting environmental awareness. In visual arts, students will be introduced to still life drawing, enhancing their observational and sketching skills.
