About Course
This term’s basic technology syllabus opens with Understanding Technology, helping students grasp the meaning, importance, and influence of technology in everyday life over the first two weeks. Weeks 3 to 6 then focus on Safety Guidelines and Workshop Safety, teaching students essential safety rules, proper behavior in technical spaces, and how to handle tools and equipment responsibly.
From Week 7 onward, the focus shifts to Properties of Materials, where students explore the physical, mechanical, and chemical characteristics of various materials used in technology. By the end of the term, they will understand why different materials are chosen for specific purposes and how their properties affect design and production.
