About Course

This term in Computer Studies, you’ll start with Computer Software, which are the instructions that tell the computer what to do. In Weeks 1 and 2, you’ll learn the types of software, like system software and application software.

In Week 3, the focus will be on the Operating System, which helps the computer function smoothly. You’ll then explore Utility Software in Week 4—these are special tools like antivirus or file managers that help maintain the computer.

Week 5 introduces Application Software, like Microsoft Word or games, and Week 6 will focus on how we use computer software in everyday life.

From Week 7, you’ll begin setting up a computer, learning about computer cables, how to identify them, and connect them properly (covered over Weeks 8 and 9). Finally, in Week 10, you’ll wrap up the term by studying the different parts of a computer, both inside and outside the system unit.
