This course offers a comprehensive exploration of various artistic forms, including music, dance, and drama, with a focus on their cultural significance. It begins with an introduction to musical instruments, examining both local and foreign varieties, and progresses into the classification of these instruments. The course then shifts to drama, where students explore its foundational elements. The study of local dances follows, with a particular emphasis on body movement in dance, allowing students to understand its expressive power. Additionally, the course includes an introduction to play acting, providing students with the basics of performance techniques. The course concludes with an exploration of songs and music that embody Nigerian identity, highlighting the role of music in reflecting cultural values and heritage.
